During the Instructor Course we will prepare
you over a period of 9 days for the Instructor Exam (IE). The course is quite
intensive. We deal with all the topics required of an instructor. You will
cover information about the diving industry, the PADI system of diver education,
standards, procedures and the philosophy of continuing education. There are
lectures about the business side of diving and the legal responsibilities. We
will teach you how to organize and execute the different PADI courses, theory as
well as the swimming pool and the open water activities.
The
Instructor Development Course (IDC) revised curriculum of 2000 allows us to
provide a more flexible approach to candidates who have already earned a higher
level in the diving industry. Below you will find the different possibilities:
For PADI Divemasters: You take the
Instructor Development Course, which consists of the Assistant Instructor
Course (4 days) and the Open Water Scuba Instructor Course (5 days).
For PADI
Assistant Instructors: If you have successfully completed your Assistant
Instructor Course after 1995, you may enroll directly in the
Open Water Scuba Instructor Course (5 days).
Coming from other organizations: For dive guides and instructors coming from
other organizations who want to cross over to PADI, check your possibilities on
the list of Equivalent Certifications.

list of Specialties or
ask us more information.
The courses last from 1 to 3 days and the prerequisites differ from course to
course.
Course Prerequisites:
Be a PADI
Assistant Instructor or higher

The Enriched Air (Nitrox) course is one of the most popular courses of the PADI
Specialties. After the course you can teach students to dive with any enriched
air mix between 22% and 40% of oxygen.
This 2 days course consists of a theoretical part and 1 Enriched Air training dive.
In the Master Scuba Diver Trainer Preparation Course you will learn how to
teach 5 different Specialties to students. In this way you do not have to give
proof of experience in teaching to PADI. You can start teaching the Specialties
immediately after completion of the MSDT Preparation.
This program lasts 5 to 6 days and consists of open water training and
theoretical sessions.
An IDC Staff Instructor can teach and certify
Assistant Instructors independently and can teach and evaluate most parts of the
IDC / OWSI program.
Option
A
The course takes 11 days and starts 2 days before a
scheduled IDC. During these 2 days the candidates will be evaluated for 2
presentations (theory & confined water) and will attend at least 4 lessons from
a Course Director. The other 9 days the candidates will follow a complete IDC
program.
Option B
The course takes 5 days. During the first 2 days,
the candidates will follow the same curriculum as the first 2 days of Option A.
IDC Staff Instructor candidates will then complete their training by presenting
all 7 curriculum components from the Assistant Instructor Course for evaluation,
thus preparing them to conduct this program independently. Upon certification,
it also provides them with the practical training to act as staff during an IDC.
